The Flint Cultural Center (FCC) invites you on a journey of discovery and imagination to a place where you can experience entertainment, embrace knowledge, and dream beyond the world you know. As home to a group of nationally-recognized cultural institutions aimed at furthering the arts, sciences and humanities, the FCC offers a truly unique educational and entertainment resource. Through live performances, unique exhibits, classes and more, the FCC brings it ALL within your reach.

The Whiting
The biggest and brightest stars illuminate the stage of this 2,000-seat professional performing arts venue. Each year, The Whiting Presents Broadway, music, dance, theatre, comedy, and much more throughout its season. Past performances include Bill Cosby, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, STOMP, Pat Benatar, Itzhak Perlman, Martin Short, Hairspray, Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy, Jeff Daniels and many more! The Whiting is also home to the Flint Symphony Orchestra, Flint Youth Theatre's Learning Through Theatre Series and many other community graduations and recitals. Sloan Museum
From fur trading and pioneer life, to lumbering, carriage making, and the automobile boom of General Motors, the Alfred P. Sloan Museum brings history, culture, and technology to life for the entire family. Explore the newest gallery, Wisner's Whizbang Emporium, where you will reminisce and wonder at toys from the past while spending time with your favorite kids. Buick Automotive Gallery
Buick Automotive Gallery is home to the largest collection of vintage, one-of-a-kind and experimental prototype Buicks, including the recently restored 1954 Wildcat II, the XP300 and the 1910 Buick Bug. In addition, the Gallery houses an automotive and local historical records research facility. For more information, (click here).

Longway Planetarium
Explore the wonders of outer space and experience scientific discovery at Michigan's largest planetarium. Longway's Sky Theater is equipped with the latest Digistar II technology, producing amazing three-dimensional star fields and astounding special effects. Dazzle your senses with all-new laser shows. Flint Institute of Arts
The Flint Institute of Arts is the second largest art museum in Michigan with two expansive changing temporary exhibition galleries and a permanent collection of more than 8,000 works of art representing ancient cultures to cutting edge contemporary art. Travel through twelve galleries beginning with Art of the Americas, Africa and Asia to the European Renaissance. Continue through Impressionism to Mid-Century Modern, Great Lakes Regionalism, Abstract Expressionism, and finish with Contemporary American Realism. Along the way you will see great paintings by Goya, Renoir, Sargent, and Cassatt and large sculptures by Calder, Kaneko, and Chihuly. Take advantage of creating a studio experience through the FIA’s Art School from early childhood to adult. Flint Institute of Music
The Flint Institute of Music is home to the Flint Symphony Orchestra (FSO) and the Flint School of Performing Arts (FSPA). The FSO is composed of 77 professional musicians and is led by Maestro Enrique Diemecke, who has gained an international reputation as one of the world's most dynamic conductors. Each year, the FSPA offers performing arts and education programs in music and dance to more than 3,000 students, making it the largest community school for the arts in Michigan. Flint Youth Theatre
Nationally recognized for its provocative, intergenerational programming, Flint Youth Theatre (FYT) presents award-winning professional theatrical productions and offers year-round classes for area youth through its Drama School. In its home at The William S. and Claire M. White Center, which includes Elgood Theater and Bower Theater, FYT productions not only entertain but also provide audiences of all ages with uncompromising explorations of compelling social issues. FYT is a recipient of a "Great Lakes Community Arts Award" presented by The Michigan Association of Community Arts Agencies (2002) and a "Governors' Arts Award" presented by ArtServe Michigan (2001).
